Ariel Poling (Sudeeka Founder & Director/SEEDs facilitator) – Was raised in Santa Fe, NM were she began her life as a performer. As soon as she could walk and talk, Ariel was doing theater, singing, dancing, and always finding a way to be on stage. At the age of 13 she began seriously studying and performing Middle Eastern Dance, specifically American Tribal Style (ATS) Bellydance with Myra Krien, the original founder of the SEEDs program (Self-Esteem, Empowerment & Education through Dance). After graduating from the SEEDs program herself, she moved her way up in Krien’s Pomegranate Studio. Ariel was blessed to have studied under Krien for over 5 years. Ariel has also taken workshops from numerous talented bellydance stars, as well as had the opportunity to perform at Tribal Fest in CA, along with many other performances across the South West and Hawaii. Ariel was also a proud member of Masnavi Dance Collective in NM for 3 years, before moving to Kauai. After 13 years of studying and performing ATS Ariel returned to Santa Fe, NM to receive her teaching certification and SEEDs certification from Krien. She has now been teaching classes on Kauai since 2008 and she finds such richness out of spreading the knowledge and beauty of the dance. As well, she is the founder of Sudeeka, a professional dance company currently performing on Kauai. Ariel has also received a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawaii and has always had the intentions of working with women or youth in some way. Now combining her dance skills and passion, along with her education, she teaches classes to large array of women in the Kauai community and facilitates the SEEDs program that will benefit young women immensely.
